FAQ’S

How would you describe your style?

I love authentic images that are filled with emotion. I love timeless looking photos with a crisp and clean edit. I seek out genuine moments that make me FEEL something. Most photos are lightly posed, meaning I’ll help get you into place first and then encourage interaction and real expressions while we’re snapping away.

What does your session fee include?

Our session fee includes 1-2 hours of shooting, depending on the type of session you are wanting. It also includes professional editing time of your images, gallery upload of your images, and a print release CD.

What is the best way to get a hold of you?

You can contact us several ways, just whichever way is more convenient for you! You can message us through our Facebook business page, Lori Michelle Photography, or our personal profiles. You can call or text us at 318-439-1494 or 318-355-6756 or simply message us through here. We will get back with you ASAP!

Where can I have my session?

We have several outdoor shooting options at our studio location, such as an old shed and truck. We also have spots with water and wispy grass/trees. Inside of our studio is great for newborns-5 years and for professional headshots. If you have a specific location in mind, we would love to check it out! We also know of several locations around that might fit your exact wants.

What should we wear?

I always like to ask, “What you are comfortable in?”  Wear your favorite outfit. I want you to be free to have fun because it’s the genuine expressions that come along with having a good time that I am trying to capture.  If you insist on everyone matching, then consider putting everyone in simple muted-toned clothes.

When it comes to kids: think color, patterns, and style!  Fun and trendy is the route I am aiming for.  We love layers, textures, hats, and accessories. If you should you need some inspiration try H&M for kids, Gap Kids, Zara, and Old Navy.

Do you supply the newborn outfits and swaddles?

Yes I can, or you can bring your own! We have several different types of newborn outfits for girls and boys. If you like simplicity, we can swaddle them. We have many color options for you to choose from.

What happens if my child or someone in my family is sick?

We can definitely reschedule! You want smiling faces in your portraits and for your session to go as smoothly as possible. Waiting on them to feel better, is the best option.

What if it rains?

No worries! We will reschedule your session if you booked an outdoor session.  Rain or shine I will be ready for you in the studio unless the weather is bad for traveling. We will be in contact with you, if the weather is looking bad.

What's  the best age for newborn photos?

For those curly, sleepy newborn shots, I highly recommend scheduling between 5-14 days old. However, I know that life happens and this isn’t always possible! We can still create beautiful newborn images after 2 weeks; it just takes a little more time and flexibility.

When is the best time to take maternity photos?

I generally recommend booking between 30-34 weeks so that your bump is nice and full, but you still feel comfortable and not too tired.

How long do your sessions last?

The average session is 1 hour but sometimes run 2 hours. This is with time added for clothes changes and location/backdrop changes. With newborns you should expect at least 2-3 hours. A lot of that is allotted for feedings and waiting for the baby to fall asleep.

What is your turnaround time?

Your pictures are normally ready within two weeks, sometimes earlier! Delivery of wedding galleries/albums can take up to 3-4 weeks. Custom session books, canvases and other products can take a little bit longer.

Do you accept credit cards?

I do, but a small fee is added to process your card. We also accept payments through paypal, checks, money orders and cash.

I only need a few images. Do you offer mini sessions?

I believe that photography should not be a rushed experience — I want you to truly enjoy our time together and leave with some amazing memories. The difference in expressions between the beginning and end of the session is truly remarkable. I find that when parents and babies have time to settle into the session and get used to the camera and me, we’re able to create more authentic portraits. For these reasons, I only offer mini sessions  from time to time, and the best way to find out about those is by liking our Facebook page, Lori Michelle Photography.

Where should I print my images?

I recommend Mpix.com. It's a consumer lab that offers professional-quality prints. After you upload your digital files, they mail the prints straight to your home. I do not recommend printing your images at  Walmart, CVS, or Walgreens. These labs are not designed to handle printing professional photography.
